- Arctic Monkeys have won the Mercury Prize. The
award is given to one UK or Irish artist each year and all genres
of music are considered.
- With the release of 5 UK
Singles exploding into the UK Charts, each one charting better
than the last, and the completion of 4 successive sold-out headline
tours of the UK, The Kooks are one of the most talked-about
new bands out of the UK.
The Kooks debut full-length album, 'Inside In/Inside Out', has
already gone TRIPLE PLATINUM in the UK and has never fallen from
the Top 10 seven months after its release. The album was
produced by Tony Hoffer, known for his work with Beck, Air, Supergrass,
etc. and was recorded at Ray Davies' Konk Studios in London.
Their upcoming October UK Headline Tour sold out in under
an hour. They just finished supporting The Rolling Stones.
